  1. Use member structure enlightenment and enforcement to ensure that all house have fire extinguisher and all occupant know how to use fire extinguisher using NFEC Fire Ad-Hoc Staff Module.

BACKGROUND

As a response to terrorist attack using fire extinguisher for Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and the escalation of 2018 global fire extinguisher threat alert NO:A12/1171/18 by Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) on explosion of some fire extinguisher in storage as well as the increase rate of failure at the point of usage, recent interception of illicit drugs and small arms inside fire extinguisher cylinder etc.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

  1. Control Fake Importers and illegal Manufacturers.
  2. Implement Importation Quota Program (IQP) to boost domestication of fire extinguisher manufacturing in Nigeria.
  3. Control Fake fire extinguisher Servicing Vendors.
  4. Control/Track failed fire extinguisher at point of usage.
  5. Block Economic Loopholes to boost Government Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
  6. Create Employment opportunities through servicing, distribution and pre-enforcement data gathering.
  7. Promote enlightenment on how to use fire extinguisher.
  8. Enhance National Security by preventing its cylinder use for improvised explosive device, drug trafficking and small arms proliferation etc.

How it works?

NFEC Creates database of all manufacturers, Importers, distributors, servicing vendors and owner to enable

  1. Public who have existing Fire extinguisher to use N-Alert Mobile app to capture the extinguisher day and make payment for its servicing during the 90days validation of existing extinguisher
  2. It enables premises occupier use N-Alert validate or buy new fire extinguisher
  3. For the fear of fake product the public use *736# to verify, activate and complain
  4. Vehicle recharge their extinguisher annual through VIO annual vehicle license renewal
  5. All premise are visited by Fire Adhoc staff to educate and follow up fire extinguishers compliance. Should there be delay, they report to fire service who carry out enforcement by sealing up the premise
